Las Vegas, the much-awaited event
It is the most anticipated novelty of the year, the circuit on which all the drivers can’t wait to race for the first time: Las Vegas will be a race of absolute charm, set in a glamorous and nocturnal context that enhances the city of sin’s lights.
The prices to attend the race weekend are out of reach for the “average” wallets, but a tremendous success is predicted for Formula 1, which aims to earn even double the amount guaranteed by the Super Bowl final. Obviously, the success of the circuit will have to be measured in the long term, with Formula 1 tasked with maintaining the interest of the American audience. The circuit will also play a role, and now we know its features, thanks to a preview unveiled today on Formula 1’s social media accounts.
A lap in Las Vegas
On Twitter, the official channels of the sport shared a virtual lap of the Las Vegas track on F123, the official Formula 1 game releasing on June 16th, including a passage on the incredibly long strip, the highlight of the circuit. The Grand Prix, taking place on Saturday, November 18th, and serving as the penultimate race of the 2023 Formula 1 campaign, will consist of 50 laps covering a distance of 306 km. One lap measures 6.12 km and will host two DRS zones, with a total of 17 corners.
The return to Las Vegas
For Formula 1, the event in Nevada will not be a first. In 1981 and 1982, the sport raced at Caesars Palace on a circuit that certainly did not make history. It is hoped that, 40 years later, the second partnership between Formula 1 and Las Vegas will be happier and more enduring, without falling into avoidable kitsch, as unfortunately witnessed in the debut race in Miami in 2022.
