A major contract extension has been announced for the Austrian Grand Prix, which will stay on the Formula 1 calendar until 2041. Red Bull, owner of the circuit, celebrates the deal. Mark Mateschitz stated he is proud to carry on his father’s legacy and preserve the rich motorsport history of Styria and the Red Bull Ring. He also confirmed plans for additional investment in the Murtal district.

While many historic European tracks face uncertainty, the Red Bull-owned circuit has secured a long-term contract through 2041—bringing stability and paving the way for further investments.
Domenicali, Mateschitz, and Überall celebrate the Austrian GP renewal
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed his satisfaction, stating that Austria has long been a special race for F1. He said it’s fantastic to secure the long-term future of such a historically significant Grand Prix. He also praised Dietrich Mateschitz for his vision and passion, which helped restore the event as a standout on the calendar.
Mark Mateschitz, heir to the Red Bull empire, emphasized the importance of continuing his father’s project. He noted that Austria’s deep connection with F1 forms a strong foundation for a long-term partnership and expressed the intention to keep building on this success for many years to come.
Finally, circuit director Thomas Überall highlighted the strategic value of the new agreement. He stated that the long-term security of the Austrian Grand Prix will drive further infrastructure investment and represents a major added value for the Murtal region, Styria, and Austria as a whole.
