As Scuderia Ferrari continues its direct duel with Red Bull for the world championships this season, the Maranello team introduced its first important overhaul of its F1-75 car in the previous round of the 2022 Formula One season, the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya. The updates were largely successful and delivered important progress, as Charles Leclerc was able to score an impressive pole position lap and seemed to be faster than title rival Max Verstappen in the first stint of the race, before a power unit issue forced him to retire and hand over the win to the Dutchman.
A few days later, the focus is now on the Monaco Grand Prix and while Scuderia Ferrari officially has not brought any upgrades to Monaco this weekend, it seems the Italian side does have a revised front suspension for the race on the streets of Monte Carlo. The Maranello team has not confirmed this in the official FIA document which teams present ahead of any Grand Prix weekend starting with this season, but F1 Technical Analyst has Piergiuseppe Donadoni confirmed the information.
The revised front suspension for this weekend will allow turning in the Loews hairpin, that has a speed from 50km/h and radius of 9m. The steering angle of the F1-75 will increase by 4°.
At the same time, German automobile magazine ‘Auto Motor und Sport’ has reported on the updates introduced by other teams, stating that Red Bull has brought a steering and front brake cooling upgrade, while Mercedes has brought a modified front wing end plate and a front brake cooling upgrade for the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
