The anticipation for what has now become a genuine “Massa case” is growing. Felipe Massa’s lawyers have granted until October for the FIA and Formula 1 to clarify their position regarding the events of the now-famous 2008 Singapore GP, the scene of the “crashgate.”
Awaiting a response to the serious accusations of having willfully concealed the manipulated outcome of the race, which later proved decisive for that championship’s outcome, Felipe Massa’s legal team is now calling upon Lewis Hamilton.
Massa’s Lawyer: “I Hope for Lewis’ help”
The Englishman, who went on to win the title that year, has so far remained uninvolved, but Bernardo Viana, one of Felipe Massa’s lawyers, hopes for his cooperation.
“He is an important ambassador for the sport and has always defended sportsmanship. He is also an honorary Brazilian citizen and is much loved here in our country. I sincerely hope he will support us,” explained the attorney.
This is quite an ambitious wish, especially considering that the first world championship title for Lewis could potentially be at stake.
“We have absolutely nothing against Hamilton,” Viana emphasizes.

For now, the seven-time world champion has expressed no interest in the matter. We will see if, after being pressed again by Felipe Massa’s legal team, he decides to actively take a stance.
