For several years, it has been a tradition to introduce the drivers to the audience in the stands before the start of the race. Generally, the Driver’s Parade starts from the grid with the drivers getting into vintage or collector’s cars to tour the track and greet the fans. However, the Drivers’ Parade preceding the Las Vegas GP caused strong embarrassment for Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, and their reaction immediately went viral.
For the most significant event of the year in Las Vegas, one of the most well-known sports presenters in America was called. The person in question is Bruce Buffer, the legendary and beloved presenter of the UFC series in the United States. Normally, in the series that hosts MMA fights, Buffer is accustomed to loudly announcing the participants. The same happened with Leclerc and Perez, announced live on TV with the “shouting” presenter in front of them. The scene was, of course, captured by cameras, capturing all the embarrassment of the drivers.
Perez, upon hearing himself called in this manner, remained noticeably surprised, almost perplexed about what was happening. This was further accentuated by the fact that Buffer practically shouted in his face, leaving Perez “stunned.” Charles Leclerc had a similar, though less dramatic, reaction, finding himself in a scene similar to that of the Red Bull driver. Fortunately for the Monegasque, the presenter exclaimed his name while he was still approaching the car for the parade. The situation became even more epic. In fact, the Monegasque thought that the presenter announcing him was ready to ask him questions, with the Ferrari man ready nearby to respond. However, the interviewer arrived shortly after, with Leclerc turning around expressing relief at escaping from the just-lived scene.
The most awkward announcement, the way he yelled right infront of him 😭 pic.twitter.com/ZAGhrQuMJC
