The 2022 Formula 1 championship was marked by the dominance of Red Bull, despite a positive start for Scuderia Ferrari, who sadly was not able to mount a title challenge against Max Verstappen. The Dutchman went on to take his second Formula 1 world championship, in a much easier manner than his 2021 title. However, the Maranello team and Mercedes are expected to challenge the Austrian side, as they look to continue their pursuit and reduce the gap to Red Bull.
Where is a lot of talk regarding the pace and performance of the 2023 F1 cars, we will only get a first hint of what’s to come next season when the covers are taken off the 2023 Formula 1 challengers in a few weeks’ time. However, as is always the case, all teams will try to hide as much as possible in terms of innovating solutions that can be spotted from the outside and will keep anything really groundbreaking away from the TV cameras until the official pre-season testing session which takes place at the Bahrain International circuit, just one week before the start of the season.

The 2022 championship started great for the Maranello tea, but gradually became an arduous year for Formula 1’s most historic team, as Ferrari was not able to capitalize on the initial speed of its F1-75 car. Ferrari starts the new season with an important change at the top of the Racing Division: ex-Alfa Romeo boss Fred Vasseur is now in charge of the team, having replaced Mattia Binotto, who left the Italian side after 28 years of working in Maranello.
