Alexandra Saint Mleux responds publicly after social media attacks
Shortly before the beginning of the 2026 Formula 1 season, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux decided to get married. The ceremony took place between the end of pre-season testing in Bahrain and the opening race of the year in Australia.
In Melbourne, the Monegasque driver even joked that the trips to Australia and later China would effectively become a kind of honeymoon for the couple, since they had no other real opportunity to spend time together away from Formula 1 commitments.
Over the past few days, however, Alexandra Saint Mleux found herself shaken by a series of strange and personal attacks on social media. One comment in particular caught her attention. In a post online, a user claimed that without marrying Charles Leclerc, she “would be nobody today.”
Alexandra Saint Mleux publicly defends herself
The offensive comment pushed Alexandra to respond publicly and defend herself against the criticism “I’m a normal girl. With or without my husband. I have my own hobbies, my passions, my interests, and I try to be the kindest person possible. That’s who I am, and I try to be that way as his wife too.”
She then continued by directly addressing the author of the post: “There is nothing wrong with that and maybe,” she added, “you are the same way too, and it’s wonderful if that’s the case,” as reported by GPBlog.com.
Alexandra also used the opportunity to deliver a broader message about respect and the tendency to judge others online. “Not all of us are destined to become singers, doctors, actresses or athletes. That does not make anyone less valuable.”
She concluded by sending a final message to those who enjoy targeting people not only on social media, but also in everyday life: “What truly makes the difference is how you behave as a person. Whether you treat others well and what you choose to do in your free time. Think about that.”
Her response quickly attracted support from many Formula 1 fans online, with numerous users praising the calm and respectful tone she adopted while replying to the criticism.
The recent online targeting of Alexandra Saint Mleux highlights the often toxic intersection of personal lives and the intense spotlight of the Formula 1 paddock. By choosing to respond with a message of kindness and self-worth, Charles Leclerc’s wife has shifted the narrative from a baseless attack to a broader conversation about digital respect and individual value outside of celebrity status. As the 2026 season continues, it remains clear that while the drivers face immense pressure on the track, their families often navigate an equally challenging landscape on social media.
