Disaster struck for Charles Leclerc before the Miami Grand Prix Sprint had even begun, as the Monegasque driver crashed on his way to the grid during a sudden downpour.
Caught out by the treacherous conditions, Charles Leclerc lost control of his Ferrari in the middle sector of the circuit. The incident caused significant damage to the right side of the car, which he initially attempted to bring back to the pits.
Despite his efforts, the damage proved too severe. Charles Leclerc came to a complete halt on track, unable to continue. As a result, he will not take part in the Sprint, marking a crushing blow to Ferrari’s hopes for valuable points and data ahead of Sunday’s main race.
The incident underscores the unpredictable nature of wet weather in Formula 1, and leaves Ferrari with urgent repairs to make before the Grand Prix.
