Between Almave and LEC, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will already have something to share as teammates at Ferrari in 2025.
It’s been days since LEC, the ice cream-themed project created by Charles Leclerc in collaboration with the founders of Grom, has been literally sweeping the nation, with the already famous ice cream containers flying off the shelves in all Italian supermarkets. After fulfilling his dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver, the Monegasque also managed to satisfy another great desire, that is, to open an ice cream shop under his own brand.
“How did the idea come about? Because I like ice cream!” Charles commented at the product launch two days ago. “I’ve really liked it since I was little, but unfortunately, I could never eat too much of it, especially in recent years.”
“99% of my life is Formula 1 and my priority is to be the best Formula 1 driver. So, I dedicate everything I have to F1, but it was important for me to launch into a project where I had the opportunity to give the exact vision of what I wanted from the product, the image to project externally, and to have people I can trust.”
However, the Ferrari driver is not the only one to have started an entrepreneurial project outside of Formula 1. A few months ago, Lewis Hamilton launched “Almave,” which is “the first super-premium non-alcoholic beverage made from Blue Agave, produced in Mexico, closely following the traditional tequila distillation techniques.”
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will therefore already have common ground to discuss starting next year when the Briton will don the red after a decade at Mercedes: “We were talking about it last time on the track!”
“He has his new Almave project, which is very nice because he has developed a new non-alcoholic drink, and I have the ice cream. So definitely, one day, when he arrives at Ferrari, we’ll celebrate with my ice cream and his drink.” – the Monegasque driver stated.
While we wait to see the two champions race together in 2025, there’s still an entire season to complete. Scuderia Ferrari has started the championship with a decidedly different approach compared to Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton himself, who is currently only ninth in the drivers’ standings with just ten points ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix, which takes place next weekend at the 5.451-kilometre Shanghai International Circuit.
