Charles Leclerc with the Paris 2024 Olympic torch
It was a special day for Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari driver played a key role in the passing of the Olympic torch in Monte Carlo: at 14:15, in front of the statue of Juan Manuel Fangio (after the La Rascasse corner), Charles Leclerc walked with the Flame before handing it over to skier Alexandra Coletti.
Charles Leclerc’s comments
“It is a great honor for me to carry the Olympic Flame here, in my home country. I am very, very proud,” Charles Leclerc commented to TV Monaco.

This is the second time the Flame has passed through Monaco: the first time was in 1968, before the Grenoble Winter Olympics.
The Flame, lit in Olympia on April 16, will arrive in Paris for the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Games on July 26. Other torchbearers in the ceremony included table tennis player Xiaoxin Yang, bobsledder Rudy Rinaldi, Prince Albert II, and Princess Charlene.
