French Grand Prix motorcycle rider Fabio Quartararo left a message for Charles Leclerc, as the Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver took part in a special appearance at the CANAL+ live today!
Charles, how many wins this year for you?
Charles Leclerc (laughs): “23! No seriously, five would already be great. If we are consistent we can be world champion with five wins!”
Charles added that the key is consistency because if you win one race but you’re not consistently at the front, you can’t be champion.

The Scuderia Ferrari driver explained that Red Bull and Mercedes will bring updates in Bahrain so they need to be cautious. Back in 2019, the Maranello team were very confident after the first pre-season testing session and then during the second test, Mercedes brought updates and Ferrari was further in the back than they thought: “The last two years had been complicated. Ferrari is always under a lot of pressure. But they react well as a team and they prepared well for the new regulations.”
Charles Leclerc says that he is happy about the first pre-season testing session because they did a lot of laps and went through their whole test program without any major issues. He said it‘s difficult to judge the performance since everyone is hiding. Ferrari focused on themselves. The Monegasque driver explained that it is going to take 2-3 races to really get used to the new Formula 1 cars.
