Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc was interviewed by French premium television channel Canal+ and highlighted some pros and cons regarding the friendship existing between the drivers in Formula 1:
“Friendship is complicated in Formula 1” – Charles admitted – “But we managed to put a line between the driving and outside of it and it’s really important. With Pierre, I am very good friends. Esteban and Pierre, we know each other since we were little. With Esteban, I already ended up in a wall (laughs) but in the end it’s a good memory. We all grew up together. Also with Carlos we get along super well. We are competitors. In the end, your teammate is the only one who has the same car and I want to beat him but we need to find a balance to work for the team.” – the Monegasque driver admitted.
Charles Leclerc was then asked about driving in Formula 1 with his brother Arthur, who is currently a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and whether that is one of his biggest dreams: “Yes, I wish that for him, I would love it but it will be weird because we love each other but we would still be competitors. But I wish that for us.” – the Ferrari driver concluded.
