At the end of the Austin Grand Prix, which marked Ferrari’s return to the spotlight, Charles Leclerc reflected on his performance and the progress of the team. After a very complicated start to the weekend, the Scuderia Ferrari managed to get back on track and become one of the main contenders at the Circuit of the Americas, thanks largely to the determination and precision of the Monegasque driver.
Leclerc made a bold strategic call at the start by choosing the soft red tyres, a decision that immediately paid off. This risky move allowed him to climb up to second place in the opening laps and maintain that position for most of the race. Despite the strong pace of Lando Norris, who later managed to regain the position, McLaren did not appear to have the level of dominance many had anticipated before the race weekend.
Charles Leclerc’s words after the Austin podium
After the race, Charles Leclerc expressed his satisfaction with finishing third — a result that confirmed Ferrari’s competitiveness throughout the weekend. Unlike the chaotic Sprint Race, the Grand Prix itself was cleaner and less incident-prone at the front of the field, allowing strategy and consistency to play a bigger role.
“I don’t really know how much time we lost during the fight with Lewis,” said Charles Leclerc, referring to his early battle with Lewis Hamilton. “I didn’t realize I was going to stop so soon after that. I just ran my race and tried to defend my position the best I could. It was difficult to do any better here because Lando had a bit more pace than us. I have no regrets — I really enjoyed the race.”
The Ferrari driver emphasized that this podium finish is a clear sign of the team’s progress and determination. “This podium shows that we are doing a good job,” he continued. “Even with all the rumors surrounding the team — which are completely unfounded — we know exactly what we need to focus on and how to work efficiently. That makes me proud of everyone in the team. Great job both at the factory and at the track, so I would say it was a perfect weekend.”
Charles Leclerc’s comments not only underlined his satisfaction with Ferrari’s effort but also helped to quiet the ongoing speculation about the team’s internal atmosphere. With the SF-25 showing consistent performance and reliability, Ferrari seems to be back on the right path, showing flashes of the competitiveness that fans and insiders have been hoping for.
As the season continues, this strong showing in Austin provides a morale boost for the Scuderia, proving that the collaboration between drivers, engineers, and strategists is paying off. The podium result also suggests that Ferrari could be a serious contender for the final races, as the team continues refining its setup and tire management strategies.
Charles Leclerc’s ability to extract the maximum from the car, combined with Ferrari’s technical improvements, leaves optimism for the future. The Austin weekend was a demonstration not only of Leclerc’s talent but also of the growing synergy within the Maranello-based squad — one that continues to chase excellence amid pressure and expectations.
