Charles Leclerc has revealed that he can see himself moving into driver management once his Formula 1 career comes to an end, although the Ferrari driver insists that racing and trying to bring success to the Scuderia remain his absolute priorities for now.
The Monegasque has no intention of slowing down his F1 career and continues to look ahead with determination. At the same time, however, Charles Leclerc has already begun forming a clear idea of what his professional life could look like once he eventually steps out of the cockpit. Having recently renewed his Ferrari contract to remain with the Italian team for several more years, his immediate future remains firmly tied to Maranello.
Charles Leclerc reveals his post-F1 career plan
Asked during a recent appearance on Formula 1’s Beyond The Grid podcast whether he could one day see himself becoming a driver manager, Charles Leclerc did not hesitate.
“One day, 100%,” Charles Leclerc said.
The Ferrari driver explained that he has already discussed the possibility with his current manager, Nicolas Todt, whose work includes managing drivers and their careers.
“I’ve spoken about it with my manager Nicolas, who does this job himself, about whether it would be interesting to do it together when I’m finished,” Charles Leclerc explained.
For the moment, however, that potential career path remains a distant prospect. Charles Leclerc made clear that his entire focus is still on competing at the highest level and achieving Ferrari’s goals on track.
“I don’t see it right now. At the moment, I’m 200% focused on racing, on driving and on trying to make Ferrari win. When I turn the page, I will most likely stay around to do exactly that.”
Ferrari remains at the centre of Charles Leclerc’s career
Charles Leclerc’s relationship with Ferrari dates back to 2016, when he joined the team’s junior programme, before becoming a full-time Ferrari Formula 1 driver in 2019. His long spell in red has already made Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari career one of the longest-running partnerships on the current grid.
At 28 years old, Charles Leclerc still has potentially many competitive seasons ahead of him and remains determined to pursue the Formula 1 World Championship with Ferrari. His renewed long-term commitment to Maranello reinforces that focus, with no immediate distraction from alternative career paths away from the Italian team.
Driver management, therefore, is something Charles Leclerc can imagine for the next chapter of his professional life rather than a plan that is influencing his current priorities. For now, his attention remains entirely on racing and helping Ferrari return to the top.
Charles Leclerc has little interest in F1 paddock politics
While Charles Leclerc expects that he could remain involved in Formula 1 after retiring as a driver, he has little interest in becoming immersed in the political dynamics and power relationships of the paddock while he is still racing.
“It doesn’t really interest me. I just try to be myself and be as authentic as possible. If that harms me in any kind of relationship, I won’t force things. That’s how I’ve always been. I’ve always hated being the kind of person who has to be nice for any reason. That isn’t me and I will never change. I don’t feel that I have enemies in F1, so it hasn’t harmed me,” Charles Leclerc said.
That approach remains central to how Charles Leclerc views both his present and his future in Formula 1. His priority is still firmly behind the wheel, but whenever the time eventually comes to end his racing career, the Ferrari driver already appears to have a clear idea of how he would like to remain part of the sport.
