Charles Leclerc returns after the summer break
The last race before the Formula 1 summer break was far from easy for Charles Leclerc. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Monegasque driver secured his first pole position of the 2025 season, but his race was compromised by a balance issue with the Ferrari SF-25, which forced him to drop back and finish in fourth place. After the disappointment in Budapest, Leclerc spent his holidays between Sardinia, Corsica and the south of France, enjoying some time off with friends, family and his girlfriend. Now, as the championship resumes, he hopes to return to the track even stronger.
Charles Leclerc praises Fred Vasseur’s leadership
Speaking in the Zandvoort paddock to Italian outlet Repubblica, Charles Leclerc once again underlined his great respect for Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur: “I am very happy with his confirmation because it gives stability to the team and also strengthens our relationship, which is always excellent. He is not afraid to tell me things directly, and the same goes for me. There is complete openness and honesty between us, sometimes we do not even need to talk, we understand each other immediately. We are aligned and share the same ideas.”
A professional relationship with Hamilton
The Ferrari star also spoke about his bond with Lewis Hamilton, who joined the Scuderia this season: “We talk often, but it remains a very professional relationship. We both work to push the team as high as possible, but at the same time we also want to beat each other, and that is a source of motivation both for him and for me.”
Belief in Ferrari at “200%”
As in every interview, Charles Leclerc reaffirmed his pride in representing Ferrari and his absolute commitment to the team: “This is my team, the one I want to win with. I will be the best version of myself as long as I believe in the project, and I believe in it 200%. I love this team more than ever.”
With the championship entering its decisive phase, Charles Leclerc’s determination, combined with his trust in Fred Vasseur’s leadership and the challenge alongside Lewis Hamilton, represents Ferrari’s strongest hope of closing the gap to McLaren and returning to the very top of Formula 1 in 2026.
