Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc finished where he started in the 17 lap, 100 kilometre Sprint Qualifying at the Silverstone circuit to line up fourth on the grid for tomorrow’s British Grand Prix. The race starts at 15 local (16 CET) over 52 laps (306.198 kilometres.)
Charles shares his thoughts on the new sprint qualifying format: “I really enjoyed it actually. It was great. With the sprint race on Saturday, it makes the Sunday more exciting to me. Speaking of the race, the pace was great. We were not so far from Valtteri for the whole race. It is looking good for tomorrow”
As for Carlos Sainz, he will start from 11th having dropped all the way down to 19th after a collision with George Russell. The Spaniard did well to pull off seven passes to get back to two places down from ninth, where he had started: “It can go the one way or the other, but it‘s the way of racing” – Charles Leclerc continued – “I think Carlos should be happy, he did a great race, coming back from behind, in so little laps that we had. And tomorrow is the main race. If we keep the pace we had today, I am pretty sure we can have a good result as a team tomorrow. We were quicker than I expected today. Tomorrow the race is long, I will push at 100%!” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc concluded.
