From the complicated situation of Scuderia Ferrari to his passion for music and his dreams, Charles Leclerc granted a comprehensive interview to TG1 ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. Here’s an excerpt of his most important comments
Charles Leclerc’s words:
“The gap is bigger than what we expected, so we are working hard,” Charles Leclerc explained when asked about the start of the 2023 Formula One season for the Maranello team, far behind the Red Bull of Max Verstappen and his teammates. When asked if he sees himself at Maranello in the future, he replied, “I hope so, I hope so. I am happy here; it was my dream to become a Ferrari driver.” – he pointed out.
The Monegasque driver admitted that he seeks refuge in music to find calmness and alleviate frustration, especially in such a difficult moment of his Formula 1 career: “It’s probably a way for me to let off steam.” Charles has also composed and played a piano piece that garnered millions of views. “What did I want to express in that song? I am always happy, but I like depressive music. That’s just how I am (laughs, note), I can’t change. When I’m happy, I listen to depressive music. So, there was no message…” explained the number 16.

The dream to fulfill
“Have I fulfilled all my dreams? No. Being a Ferrari driver in Formula 1 was one of my dreams, and I achieved it. But I want to win at least one championship.” Charles Leclerc then concluded his statement by revealing that the emoji he uses the most on his phone is the red heart. Now, that’s a message worth more than a thousand words.
