It is now a well-known fact that Formula 1 is heading towards being more of a spectacle and entertainment for the general public rather than just a competition: sprint races, team principal parades, TV series, and influencers present in the paddock are just some of Liberty Media’s latest ideas to attract interest. Among the most recent innovations is the production of a motorsport-themed film, of which very little has been leaked.
What is known is that it will have an exceptional cast and crew: Brad Pitt will be the protagonist, and Lewis Hamilton will be among the producers to ensure that the production is accurate.
And during the Miami Grand Prix weekend we received confirmation that the famous American actor will take to the track at Silverstone alongside the other single-seaters for some filming. This has raised quite a bit of discontent among fans and even drivers, like Colton Herta, who complained on Twitter that an actor will drive an F1 car before he does. However, Brad Pitt will not race with the twenty regular drivers but will instead drive a Formula 2 car in a private session. In addition, the film crew will follow the circus from this weekend until the last of the championship for filming.
Charles Leclerc is enthusiastic about the film
During Thursday’s press conference at the Miami International Autodrome in Florida, USA, Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc was asked what he thought about being followed by Hollywood directors. In response, the Monegasque driver explained: “I don’t think it will be a distraction. In the end, one more or one less camera won’t make a difference, we won’t even notice.” – the Ferrari man pointed out.

Charles Leclerc also expressed enthusiasm for this project, stating: “I think it’s fantastic for the sport. It gives us great visibility, a great platform for those people who don’t know or aren’t interested in Formula One. So they can understand it better, and this is a great way. So no, from my point of view, it won’t add pressure, but at the same time I don’t think it will for anyone.” – the Scuderia Ferrari man concluded.
