Charles Leclerc remains confident in Ferrari’s future despite challenging 2025 season
Charles Leclerc has expressed strong confidence in the future of the Ferrari Formula 1 team, even after a difficult 2025 season that has yet to produce a race win. The Italian squad entered this year aiming for a title challenge, following a narrow defeat in last year’s constructors’ championship, but the season has so far fallen short of expectations.
Despite the underwhelming results, Charles Leclerc reiterated his faith in the team’s direction, highlighting the changes underway within Ferrari’s structure. He emphasized that the team is making substantial efforts to improve its internal processes and adopt new ways of working. The addition of personnel with fresh perspectives and approaches has given him optimism about the long-term trajectory of the Scuderia.
Charles Leclerc also addressed the decision to focus early on the 2026 car in light of upcoming regulation changes. He explained that while the team has temporarily paused major upgrades to the 2025 car, this strategic choice is intended to position Ferrari as a stronger contender for the next season. He expressed confidence that this focus will allow the team to climb the pecking order and provide him with a real opportunity to fight for the championship.
Reflecting on the current season, Charles Leclerc acknowledged that some rivals have recently introduced upgrades, which has made Ferrari’s performance appear weaker in comparison. However, he framed this as an expected consequence of prioritizing the 2026 Formula 1 project. The Monegasque is optimistic that the decision to invest in next year’s car will ultimately pay off and deliver competitive gains at the start of the 2026 season.
Charles Leclerc’s comments underline his belief in both the people and the processes within Ferrari, as well as his commitment to remaining with the team despite the tough campaign. By backing the team’s long-term strategy and focusing on the opportunities presented by the new regulations, the Monegasque driver remains focused on maximizing Ferrari’s potential in the near future.
With Ferrari publicly affirming support for team principal Fred Vasseur after rumours regarding his position, Charles Leclerc’s confidence also reflects stability within the management structure. His perspective reinforces that Ferrari is aligning its resources strategically to return to championship contention and deliver results for both the Maranello team and its lead driver in 2026 and beyond.
