Charles Leclerc delivered an excellent lap in Q3, earning third place on the grid for tomorrow’s Brazilian Grand Prix. It was a solid qualifying performance from the Ferrari driver, even though he experienced a few difficulties during Q1 and Q2. Despite the challenges, Leclerc managed to stay calm and complete a series of clean, fast laps that kept him out of trouble and in contention for the top positions.
At one point, Charles Leclerc even held provisional pole position, but Lando Norris went on to set a stunning lap, beating the Monegasque by almost three tenths of a second. Soon after, Kimi Antonelli also produced an impressive effort, pushing Leclerc down to third. Still, considering the tricky conditions with gusty winds and a constantly evolving track surface, the performance of the number 16 Ferrari was very encouraging.
As often happens, the SF-25 is expected to perform better in race trim than in qualifying, and Ferrari fans can hope for another podium finish on Sunday. Lewis Hamilton, who qualified down in thirteenth, will aim for a comeback drive to join Charles Leclerc near the front. Both drivers will be pushing hard to bring Ferrari closer to second place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Charles Leclerc’s comments after qualifying
Speaking about the final part of qualifying and his last lap, Charles Leclerc remained upbeat and satisfied with the outcome. “We did some great laps in both Q2 and Q3,” said the Ferrari driver. “But the times are so close that you can go from a disastrous weekend to a very good one just because of a few hundredths of a second.”
He added, “I’m happy because I managed to put everything together in Q2 and Q3, and that was crucial for us since we were right on the limit.”
“Third place satisfies me because it’s been a very difficult weekend for us,” the 28-year-old concluded.
Tomorrow, Leclerc will line up on the second row alongside Isack Hadjar. Behind him will be Oscar Piastri and George Russell, while ahead he’ll have to fight against Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli. The Brazilian Grand Prix promises to be an exciting and unpredictable race, with several battles expected throughout the field to keep fans entertained from start to finish.
