The usual Charles Leclerc from Saturdays. Only this time on Friday. In short, the same impressie Charles in qualifying, a session that the new format has scheduled for Friday ahead of the British Grand Prix: when it comes to pushing hard without thinking about management, the Monegasque is one of the strongest on the grid. And he proved it once again at Silverstone, taking fourth place at the start of the first Sprint Qualifying in Formula One history.
The Scuderia Ferrari driver surrendered only to Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas, taking exactly five tenths of a second from the Finn. But he got ahead of the Red Bull of Sergio Perez (thanks also to a lap canceled due to track limits). And he could not do more than that, on a circuit that in theory puts Ferrari at a disadvantage against its rivals.
These are the words of Charles Leclerc after the Silverstone qualifying: “I liked it today. In general I like to just have a little preparation. It was less time to look at the data, we had to be immediately on the pace. I like this approach. Now we are focused on Saturday’s race and we hope to do well” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc said, as reported by Sky Sport F1 after the qualifying session at Silverstone.
