Telemetry analysis and comparison between the best lap times set by Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc and Mercedes’ George Russell in the qualifying session for the 2022 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring racetrack in Mogyorod, near Budapest. The graph was created by reddit user dialtone:

Charles Leclerc had a better main straight performance than his Maranello teammate Carlos Sainz, switching to 8th 50m ahead of the Spaniard, and his top speed trace benefited. Top speed is the same between the two, still 6kph slower than Friday.
Sadly Charles Leclerc wasn’t as strong in T1, he had a bit of an oversteer in his first attempt there, so he kept it chill in the second attempt, but that caused him to lose a lot of time.
Charles’ T2 was decent but the exit wasn’t as good, traction wise George Russell had a better exit out of it. So between T1 and T2 the Monegasque driver lost 0.153 just there.
The rest of the lap from that stage, Charles Leclerc was however better than Carlos Sainz’s lap by an amount that would have allowed the Spaniard to be on pole.
Once again in Turn 11, the Ferrari cars just couldn’t nail that corner today, probably lack of front tire temperature: Charles Leclerc’s T11 is even worse than his teammate’s.
