“How did the idea come about? We had a mutual friend who put us in touch because Federico wanted to know more about Formula 1,” the Monegasque began in response to questions from Nicola Savino and Linus.

“So we organized this lunch in Monaco. He explained his story to me, which I didn’t know at that moment, and I told him my story and what I have experienced in Formula 1 in general. Talking to Federico during this lunch, I told him that I would love to open an ice cream parlor in Monaco, and he explained his project to me.”

Also participating in the conversation, in addition to the founders of Grom, was Nicolas Todt, son of the former Ferrari team principal and FIA president, as well as the longtime manager of number 16.

At least for now, Charles Leclerc will have to set aside the dream of opening an ice cream parlor in Monaco: “Obviously, I have dedicated everything to F1 since I was a child, but there is one thing that I have always loved madly, and that is ice cream. I had to make some sacrifices to eat less of it because I have to maintain a certain physique.”

The Monegasque will also speak at a press conference at the Spazio Vitale Barberis Canonico before flying to Shanghai for the Chinese GP scheduled for next weekend, with the Chinese circuit hosting the fifth event of the 2024 season.
