Charles sees red
As per tradition, Charles Leclerc gives interviews to Monegasque and French outlets during the Monaco weekend. Particularly interesting is the one given to Frederic Ferret and published this morning in L’Équipe.
“This year we all believed in the team, but unfortunately the start of the season was more complicated than expected,” Leclerc explained frankly, adding: “I haven’t lost hope, because the championship is still very long. Last year Red Bull started very strong, but it was McLaren who became champion. I will give my all until the end to try to win the title this year.”
One part of the interview is worth highlighting, namely the question of possibly leaving Ferrari, which Charles Leclerc categorically ruled out: “Of course not, there is absolutely no chance. I believe in the project and I believe in Fred (Vasseur). Clearly, it’s a complicated moment and in times like this it’s easy to have doubts. But I’m not thinking about leaving Ferrari, I want to win with Ferrari. And I will stay as long as I believe in this project. And I believe in it.”
Total trust in Fred Vasseur.
Charles Leclerc then reiterated his confidence in the team principal: “I’ve always said I have total trust in Fred and I truly believe he is the right person to bring Ferrari back to the top. He really is the one who can make it win. I’ve always said it and I really hope that together we can bring Ferrari back to the top.” – the Monegasque driver concluded ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.
