Charles Leclerc has expressed his determination to lead Ferrari back to winning ways, as Formula 1 approaches the beginning of a brand-new era of regulations. The Monegasque driver has been part of the Scuderia Ferrari family since 2019, and despite the ups and downs of recent years, he remains convinced that the team is moving in the right direction.
The 2025 Formula 1 season is now at its halfway point, and while the current campaign still demands full attention, all the teams on the grid are already heavily focused on the future. The 2026 championship will bring major regulatory changes, with new technical rules that are expected to significantly alter the competitive order. For Charles Leclerc, these changes represent both a challenge and a huge opportunity for Ferrari to regain its status at the very top of the sport.
Speaking in detail to RacingNews365, Leclerc admitted that he has strong belief in the work being done in Maranello. He acknowledged that 2026 will inevitably be a transitional year, but he sees it as the start of something important for Ferrari’s long-term ambitions.
“Fred [Vasseur] is obviously an important part of all of this,” said Charles Leclerc, “but what matters most is to see how the whole team is working. I am convinced that we are heading in the right direction. Next year will be a turning point for us, because it will mark the beginning of a brand-new era of cars.”
The Ferrari driver was also keen to underline the importance of starting strong as soon as the new regulations come into play. He knows from experience that in Formula 1, a slow start can be extremely difficult to recover from.
“Every time a new era begins, if you don’t start on the right foot, it becomes harder and harder to close the gap,” Charles Leclerc explained. “That’s because the other teams continue to push forward with upgrades, and making up lost ground becomes very complicated. We need to make sure we start off in the right way, and then we will see where we stand.”
Finally, Charles Leclerc made it clear that his personal goal is aligned with that of Ferrari’s passionate fanbase worldwide: to see the famous Prancing Horse back on the top step of the podium on a regular basis.
“For now I am completely focused on one objective,” he concluded. “I want to bring Ferrari back to the top and win races again.”
With the 2026 regulation reset just around the corner, Charles Leclerc’s words will serve as both reassurance and motivation for Ferrari fans. The challenge is immense, but the Monegasque driver is determined to be at the heart of the Scuderia’s next great chapter in Formula 1 history.
