The Prancing Horse team had arrived in Melbourne thinking they would have to chase their rivals from Red Bull in the 2022 Australian Grand Prix. It was believed that the F1-75 car did not adapt particularly well to the characteristics of the new Albert Park Circuit layout, at least compared to their direct opponents in this start of the 2022 Formula 1 season. There were the coonsiderations that everyone pointed out from Thursday to Saturday morning, but which then left room for a domination of the F1-75 that left everyone speechless inside the paddock.
Including current championship ranking leader Charles Leclerc: “On paper, we should have been a little behind Red Bull. Instead we were stronger than we thought. It was definitely a nice surprise for us.”
Charles Leclerc thanks the team and encourages them: “We have to continue like this”
The Monegasque driver does not take credit for the extraordinary results in the first three races of the 2022 Formula One season: “At the moment I am concentrating only on providing the best possible feedback on the car”. Charles gives credit to the great work carried out by the Maranello team during the last season and in the winter: “It is up to the guys in Maranello to make a strong, reliable engine and give us a competitive car. I must say that this season they have succeeded, they did an amazing job!.” – he added.
“I am incredibly happy and proud to drive for Ferrari,” continued Charles Leclerc, renewing his love for Italian colors – “We have lived through difficult seasons and it was not taken for granted that we would be at this level. We have to keep pushing. The season is long, but we had a great start” – the Ferrari driver added.
