The relationship between Charles Leclerc and Scuderia Ferrari is something very special. Charles has been with Maranello since 2019 and intends to stay there for a long time. The announcement of Lewis Hamilton’s arrival has generated a lot of buzz and triggered many speculations, including those about the Monegasque driver’s future. However, Charles Leclerc revealed that he has always been aware of Lewis Hamilton’s negotiations with the Italian side and emphasized how happy he is with the multi-year contract signed with Ferrari.
Charles Leclerc’s trust in the Scuderia
The duration of the new agreement is not yet known, but renewing beyond 2026 is a confirmation of great mutual trust. However, in the contract, Charles Leclerc likely has an exit clause in case Ferrari does not prove to be competitive. Nevertheless, the Monegasque driver dreams of bringing the title back to Maranello. Additionally, Charles seems to have immense confidence in the Ferrari project, along with a deep love for the Scuderia.
“Here, it feels like being in a family,” Charles Leclerc stated. “Moreover, they were the first to believe in me even before I arrived in Formula 1. They gave me the opportunity to enter F1. They gave me the opportunity to be a Ferrari driver and to have a good enough car to get my first pole position and my first victory.” – he pointed out.
“But more than anything, I believe the reason that led me to sign a longer contract is that I believe in the project. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have done it. I fully believe in the project. I love Ferrari, that’s for sure, and I think it’s clear to everyone. But above all, I believe in the project, and I believe we have the best chances of becoming the best car on the grid in the coming years. That’s why I renewed with Ferrari.” – the Monegasque driver admitted.

There is a lot of confidence that Maranello will be able to develop a winning car. The major goal is, of course, 2026 when the regulations will undergo a complete change. This could also be the same reason that convinced Lewis Hamilton to sign a contract with Ferrari, joining Charles Leclerc. If the car truly lives up to expectations, then Maranello would have all the credentials to reclaim the world championship.
