Charles Leclerc is heading to the Brazilian Grand Prix full of motivation, betting on a crucial factor that could help him return to the podium—or even fight for the win. The Ferrari driver arrives in Brazil after a joyful announcement: his official engagement to Alexandra Saint Mieux. Charles Leclerc hopes to celebrate this personal milestone with a strong result at Interlagos, confident that one key setup element might give him the edge he needs.
Leclerc targets Interlagos breakthrough
Like the Hungarian Grand Prix, Interlagos is a track where Charles Leclerc has yet to score a podium and only occasionally finished ahead of his teammate. At the Hungaroring, he secured pole position and came close to victory; now, he aims to achieve something similar in Brazil. Speaking to the media, Leclerc explained: “She is such an important person in my life, and I felt it was the right moment. What would I like to do? Stand on the podium here at Interlagos.”
“I have never reached the podium here”
Charles Leclerc reflected on his past challenges at the track: “It’s one of my favorite non-street circuits, yet I’ve never been able to reach the podium. Even though on multiple occasions, especially in 2019 and 2023, we showed we deserved a top-three finish. We arrive here on the momentum of recent strong results, with two consecutive podiums, and we want to continue that trend. Once again, I expect a fight down to the thousandths with our usual rivals. And seeing how unpredictable a weekend can be here, why not aim for something even bigger?”
Weather and car setup could be decisive
Weather forecasts indicate Interlagos will likely present challenging conditions once more, thrilling for the fans but tricky for drivers and teams. Ferrari has historically struggled in wet conditions, but adjustments to the differential and brake-by-wire system could help both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton maintain better stability on the slippery track. Following his engagement, a victory would be a perfect celebration, yet Leclerc remains focused on team priorities: “The gaps are so small that it’s pointless to talk about the standings. We’re all on the same level, and it will be crucial to try to bring home the best result possible.”
