On the eve of the Monaco GP, the drivers had the chance to preview the F1 film, which will be available to the public in a few weeks.
Wednesday in Monaco was packed with activities for the drivers who will take to the track over the weekend. In the afternoon, they took part in the charity football match held annually in the Principality during GP week. In the evening, all the drivers gathered to attend the premiere of the F1 film.
Since 2023, the actors in the film have appeared at various race weekends to portray the eleventh team on the grid in the story being told. Filming lasted about two years, but the release is now approaching. The trailer was recently released, and in just over a month—on June 25—the movie will be available in Italian cinemas.
Film preview for the drivers
The twenty faces that bring F1 weekends to life were given the opportunity to watch the final result of the production in advance. Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were both there, while Max Verstappen did not attend, opting instead to stay home and entertain fans with a livestream from his simulator. Lance Stroll was also absent in the event photos.
Among the drivers who did attend was Kimi Antonelli. The young driver from Bologna was the first to give feedback on what he saw. Right after the screening, Kimi said: “It was very nice. It’s long, but really well done. I think the world will like this film. The story is good, and people will appreciate it.”
With this packed day of events over, it’s now time to focus on the track and the commitments of the paddock. ScuderiaFans.com will be following the Monaco weekend directly from the circuit, so stay tuned for updates from the Principality.
