Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz took part in the official presentation of the F1-75 car they will be taking to the track this season and have praised the bold and “aggressive” new design of the Ferrari challenger, which should bring the Maranello team back to the top.
Charles and Carlos were joined by Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto as the team officially revealed the F1-75 earlier today and both were impressed by the design of the new car.
Charles Leclerc said: “I love it. I really, really like it. I think I will love it even more if it’s fast on track, but I absolutely love the look.”
Carlos Sainz agreed, adding: “I think it looks aggressive. [It] looks radical. I think it looks beautiful also and, as Charles [said], I just hope it’s fast.”
Taking into consideration the new rules which are introduced for the 2022 Formula One season, Mattia Binotto explained that the challenger features many different characteristics as compared to the previous one, and drew attention to the front wing and nose as well as the inclusion of the new 18-inch Pirelli tyres.
At the same time, Mattia Binotto believes that the bodywork is also a specific area in which the F1-75 car looks particularly different, something that Charles Leclerc is a fan of: “It definitely is [impressive]. I think this is my favourite part of the of the car itself. You can really see how much work there has been for this bodywork. It looks impressive. It looks extreme, and I like it.” – the Monegasque driver added.

Carlos Sainz said that the car’s design is “out of the box” and that “it’s what you want to see when you see a new car.”
The livery is also slightly changed for 2022, with more black added to the Maranello team’s signature red theme.
The Spanish driver explained that this is a nod to the past, with Ferrari marking their 75th anniversary as a team. His Maranello teammate, meanwhile, feels that the new shade adds to the car’s “aggressive” feel: “I think it fits perfectly. It’s a bit of a darker red. [It] looks a bit more aggressive but, for a car like this, I think it fits perfectly.” – Charles Leclerc concluded.
