Charles Leclerc, a relaxing weekend with Verstappen playing padel in Monte Carlo. A relaxing weekend for Charles Leclerc playing padel with Max Verstappen.

The engines are silent, and Formula 1 drivers can relax with their favorite pastimes on a Sunday. One of the more popular hobbies in recent years is padel, a sport that captivates many high-level athletes, including Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.

Fresh off his third world title, the Red Bull driver from the Netherlands challenged the Ferrari driver in the Principality of Monaco, where both reside, in a tournament that also involved Formula E driver Norman Nato.

Nato’s Post

Here’s the photo posted by Andretti driver Nato on Instagram: “Great fun in the very first padel tournament together with athletes from different sports and backgrounds. Lots of fun and just a bit of competition.”

Charles Leclerc playfully responded to the French driver: “You forgot to mention that you lost in the final,” implying who won the tournament. Both the Ferrari driver and the Red Bull driver have a few more days in Europe before the American triple-header: they will race in Austin, Mexico City, and Interlagos over three consecutive weeks. After a weekend break, Formula 1 will return to the United States to compete in the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
