“I have a positive opinion of Mattia Binotto and I think he should have stayed. With the F1-75, he put a competitive car on the track. He is a very good engineer, but as a team principal he still needed experience. But I think he was doing better and better. I would have found a way to keep Mattia Binotto in the team. On a technical level he has really achieved his goals. The newspapers said he did not want to stay and work in the technical area. But I don’t think he turned down the job. He could have done the job well. Frederic Vasseur has been successful in other categories, he has a good track record.” – the former sporting director of Ferrari concluded.
