The appendicitis surgery is complete, and Carlos Sainz returns to speak on social media: his message to the fans as well as Charles Leclerc and Oliver Bearman from the Jeddah hospital.
Carlos Sainz has spoken for the first time after the operation he underwent on Friday in Jeddah. The Spaniard sent a message on social media to the team, his teammate Charles Leclerc, and the young debutant Oliver Bearman.
Having driven on Thursday to complete the first two free practice sessions in Jeddah, the Spaniard from Ferrari was forced to wave the white flag for the rest of the weekend. The widespread discomfort that had been tormenting the Iberian for several days turned out to be appendicitis.
Carlos Sainz was thus hospitalized on the Saudi Friday and was immediately operated on in Jeddah. Having completed the appendicitis operation in the early afternoon, the Madrid-born driver returned to speak on his social media profiles late in the evening.
The driver from the Maranello team wanted to reassure all fans: “Today I underwent a smooth operation. I’m feeling much better!”, posted the Spanish driver.
From his hospital room, Carlos Sainz wanted to thank the fans for their support: “Thank you for all your kind messages. Thank you to everyone who has taken care of me these days here in Saudi Arabia, especially at the King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital.”

Finally, he wished his teammate Charles Leclerc well and complimented his young substitute. “Great qualifying by Oliver in his rushed debut (not at all simple) and by Lord Perceval (aka Charles Leclerc).”
“Good luck for tomorrow, Ferrari!”, concluded the Spanish driver of Scuderia Ferrari.
On his Instagram stories, the 29-year-old Ferrari also reshared the Italian team’s video with a get-well-soon dedication for their champion.
