Here is the last part of Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz’s interview with Daniele Sparisci and Giorgio Terruzzi for Italian daily newspaper published in Milan ‘Corriere della Sera’:
Let’s talk about you contract extension. How is it going?
Carlos Sainz: “As Mattia Binotto said, we are both satisfied, we intend to continue together and this winter is as an opportunity to find an agreement. We are trying. Becoming world champion with Ferrari is my ultimate ambition. I would like to renew as soon as possible.”
A driver from the past that you would like to take on. Who?
Carlos Sainz: “Since I’ve been at Ferrari, I have been listening to a lot of stories about Michael Schumacher. He’s a man I would have liked to meet, to have as a companion, to understand how he managed to be so special. Every mechanic talks about Michael Schumacher and it’s nice to hear how he was able to win over a whole group, to lead them to victory, surrounded by esteem and affection.”

Does true friendship between colleagues exist in Formula 1?
Carlos Sainz: “My friends are strangers to Formula 1…it depends on what you mean by the word friendship, but honestly I think with people that I like, such as Lando or Charles, I can be really good friends when I stop racing.”
Carlos Sainz – Charles Leclerc. Is it the best Formula 1 driver line-up in the world?
Carlos Sainz: “I’m biased but I think so. Even thinking about personal qualities. Charles and I are similar, we have a good relationship, we try to keep the Italian flag flying, the Ferrari name high, doing our job well, which doesn’t only mean being fast.”
