Carlos Sainz showed on social media the special helmet he created for the Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit this weekend, which feels like a farewell gift to Ferrari and its fans. Following Charles Leclerc, who also presented his helmet on social media, his Maranello teammate decided to do the same.
Through a series of photos, the Spaniard posed with the new race suit, created for the Italian Grand Prix, while holding the special helmet.
“Carbon fiber and racing history come together. Monza, here we come!” wrote Carlos Sainz on social media, presenting the helmet. The helmet is black and yellow with a giant Prancing Horse on the side, symbolizing the home of the Italian team.
The video on social media is accompanied by memories of last year’s pole position, among the moments the driver said he holds dear. But especially the podium, that third place celebrated in front of a crowd of fans dressed in red.
“One thing I will never forget is when I did my first lap at Fiorano in red. And then, of course, my first Monza. Certainly, my pole here and my podium last year, seeing all those people dressed in red, all singing and shouting my name, is something that has stayed with me and will always stay with me, even 40, 50 years from now when I talk about it with my grandchildren,” Carlos Sainz said at the press conference with the media ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.
