The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix at the 4.657-kilometre Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will undoubtedly be special for Carlos Sainz, considering it will also be his last home weekend with Ferrari colors. For the Spanish driver, the home event can be a good reminder to perform well with his team and to recover points in the 2024 Formula 1 drivers’ championship.
Given recent rumors, news about his future and his choice for the next season might also come from Barcelona. But before thinking about the future, it is important for Carlos Sainz to give his best in his home race, where he will be followed by the usual grandstand of his supporters.
“For me, it is absolutely one of the most special moments of the year. Being able to race in front of the home crowd is a privilege and I am really excited thinking about the upcoming weekend. He then reveals some secrets of the track to maximize the potential of his SF-24. “Turns 1, 2, and 3 are a really nice combination with medium and high-speed corners that put a lot of strain on the neck. Turn 9 is also super fast and a bit blind because it’s uphill.” – the Spaniard explained.
He continues: “You need to treat the tires well in the first part of the track if you want to get the most out of the third sector and finish a competitive lap in qualifying. This is a very challenging track, and we drivers know it well because of the many tests we have done here in the past,” the Spanish driver concludes.
