As his tenure at Scuderia Ferrari draws to a close after four seasons, Spanish driver Carlos Sainz finds himself on the lookout for a new Formula 1 seat in view of the 2025 championship, with Lewis Hamilton set to join the Maranello team next season.
Despite the impending departure, Carlos Sainz remains assured of his capabilities, emphasizing that he does not feel the need to validate his skills in the upcoming 2024 Formula 1 campaign.
The news of Lewis Hamilton’s unexpected move to Ferrari caught Carlos Sainz off guard, prompting him to contemplate his next career move after stints at Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren, and Ferrari.
While Carlos Sainz is yet to finalize his plans for the future, speculation suggests that Stake F1 could be a potential destination for him, at least for a season, before the anticipated arrival of Audi in 2026 under the new regulations.
Despite the uncertainty, Carlos Sainz remains optimistic, trusting that his track record and experience in Formula 1 will speak volumes to prospective teams.
“Honestly, I don’t need a season to prove or to show to anyone what I am capable of. I’d think that in nine years in Formula 1, and especially the last three being at a top team like Ferrari, everyone has more or less seen what I am capable of.” – the Spaniard said soon after the official reveal of the Italian side’s SF-24 car for the 2024 Formula 1 championship, in an interview for the Italian and international media.
“It is a new year, a new opportunity and hopefully it is a better car, with more performance, that allows us to shine a bit more in the races than we did last year, as we struggled a bit more than in qualifying. With a better race car, we can do better races, better strategies, have better tyre management and do better overtakes because last year, I was having to defend my position, and I did a lot of good defending, but not enough good overtaking. I am looking forward to it and seeing what we can extract from the car this year.” – the Spanish driver concluded.
