Ferrari smiles unexpectedly
Ferrari can leave the Zandvoort track with a smile, despite a weekend that until yesterday had been disastrous. Charles Leclerc secured an unexpected third place, and his Maranello teammate Carlos Sainz, who was eliminated in Q2 yesterday and almost completely unable to run in free practice, recovered to an unexpected fifth place finish.
“After qualifying, I was a bit pessimistic and a bit disappointed with how the day and the weekend had gone,” admitted the Spaniard, speaking with journalists present at Zandvoort, including FormulaPassion.it, “but today, right after the alignment lap on the grid, I felt that the car with a full fuel load was doing a bit better compared to yesterday, when it was light, and I felt that we could do something better than our predictions, which were to finish in seventh or eighth position.”
As Carlos Sainz celebrates his strong performance in the Dutch GP, some fans might also explore betting options without Swedish restrictions to add excitement to their racing experience.
Almost a podium comeback
Continuing his analysis, Carlos Sainz explained that the key factor for the SF-24’s performance was not the amount of fuel: “I finished just six or seven seconds from the podium despite starting from tenth position,” observed the Madrid native, “so I think it was a really good performance. However, it doesn’t depend on the amount of fuel; it’s something to do with the tires, the tire window, and the way we warmed them up in qualifying to protect them in the race, because today we were clearly able to keep them alive and push them quite hard in the race, while others seemed to struggle more with management.” – the Spanish driver pointed out at the end of the Dutch Grand Prix earlier today.
“I managed to overtake a Red Bull on a track as difficult as this one,” concluded the red #55, “which shows that the car must have been in good shape and that I was driving very well, so yes, I’m very proud of that.”
