Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz has not had a season that we can properly define as calm. Between the Maranello team’s reliability issues and some difficulties encountered in getting used to the new generation of Formula 1 cars, the Spaniard was not able to keep up with Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.
Longing for ‘tranquility’
So, now that he has started to have a better feeling with the F1-75 challenger, there is only one wish that the Spanish driver wanted to express in view of these last races of the 2022 Formula 1 championship: “I would like to have a constant finale part of the season, especially after such a year. I would like to have no problems in being able to pick up the pace for next year, when we have a new opportunity. The base is there, the car was excellent and we are improving”.
Ferrari should learn from Red Bull
After all, according to the Spaniard, there are just two aspects that the Maranello team should work on in order to fight for the world championship: “We need to improve in just a couple of things, such as reliability and consistency. However, we must bear in mind that this year we fought against a team like Red Bull, which was able to do everything perfectly. We have to learn from them and be in their shoes next year.” – Carlos Sainz admitted, in a recent interview for the Spanish news agency ‘EFE’.
If only Ferrari had worked a little better..
To conclude, there is a critical comment from the Spaniard, mixed with some hope: “This year we could have fought for the championship if only we had done things a little better or had a little more luck at the beginning of the season. But next year there will be a new opportunity which we have to take advantage of. Ferrari made a big step from 2021 to 2022, so I think we can look to 2023 with that goal well set in mind.” – Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz said.
