Following the stock market collapse and the lack of F1 results, some are calling loudly for John Elkann to leave Ferrari.
2025 has certainly not been Ferrari’s best year, with a Formula 1 season full of difficulties and a stock market drop following Elkann’s announcement at the 2025 Ferrari Capital Markets Days. Ferrari shares fell by around 14% on the day the company presented its goals for 2030.
This significant data, combined with the lack of results in Formula 1 despite the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, has sparked a wave of criticism regarding the management of the Maranello-based company. For some, John Elkann is considered not up to the role he currently holds, and there have been repeated calls for a leadership change.
Some demand an immediate change at the top of the Scuderia
Among them is Carlo Calenda, former Minister of Economic Development, who commented harshly on recent events. “I note that after Elkann’s presentation to the financial market, Ferrari lost 13%. I add that the Maranello company has not won a single race in the 2025 F1 season so far. Maserati is already dead. Let’s avoid yet another disaster. Elkann objectively does not have the managerial skills to remain at the top. Perhaps the shareholders should intervene and ask for a change. #ElkannOUT,” wrote the Action party secretary on his X profile.
