Words that carry weight in the eyes of fans and seem deliberately targeted at attacking the central figure in the Scuderia’s plans. The British press continues to throw out premature nonsense about the relationship forming between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton’s Ferrari adventure officially began a few days ago when the British champion arrived in Maranello last week. Intense days of activity saw him working in the simulator and at GeS to learn the new work procedures. It’s a brand-new environment that will take time to adapt to, especially after 11 years at Brackley.
Ferrari presents a new challenge, one that fuels Hamilton’s hunger for victory. A fresh motivation that will push him even harder, as he reached 105 career wins in 2024. Beyond Ferrari’s fuel, he will also be driven by the support of the Tifosi, who for years have chanted, “Lewis, come to Ferrari.”
Words that seemed impossible until less than a year ago, when the official announcement came on February 1, 2024. Now, however, the focus has shifted to attacking Leclerc, with the British media leading the charge against Maranello.

The latest addition comes from *The Race*, with Gary Anderson commenting, “I think Ferrari will support Hamilton more, and that will irritate Leclerc.”
A narrative that strays from reality—one that only those in Maranello truly understand. Leclerc knew for months about Lewis Hamilton’s arrival in Fred Vasseur’s team, and the team principal knows how to manage two roosters in the same henhouse. Will Lewis Hamilton be given initial support? Probably, but his talent will shine through, and he will want to prove he can win his eighth title without internal favors.
These claims are followed by the usual criticisms from Marko, who consistently targets Charles Leclerc and portrays Lewis Hamilton as a mentor to the Monegasque. Another rhetoric pushed by the British press, which still sees Leclerc as a driver in need of development.
However, they fail to realize that this driver has been Ferrari’s main man since 2019. His presence at Maranello dates even further back, considering his entry into the FDA. He is currently on Max Verstappen’s level in terms of raw talent, having further solidified his status in 2024 with a championship where he dominated the second half of the season standings.
Will he still need to learn? Yes, that’s the beauty of growth. But he is certainly not the one in Formula 1 who needs it the most right now.
