The funniest videos from the Brazilian GP driver parade
Before heading out for the Grand Prix, the drivers took to the track in small toy-like cars — and, unsurprisingly, chaos followed. George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli ran into some technical issues with their vehicles and, halfway through the circuit, had to ask for a lift. Who came to the rescue? Red Bull, of course. Despite the precarious situation, they somehow managed to reach the finish line.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, decided to take a “shortcut” to make up for lost ground — much to everyone’s amusement. The entire grid seemed to enjoy this unusual form of parade, a refreshing change of pace that brought laughter and lighthearted competition ahead of the serious race that followed.
Once the drivers returned their mini cars to the starting grid at Interlagos, Charles Leclerc spoke to Formula 1’s official broadcast team. Smiling and still full of energy from the fun event, the Monegasque driver proposed something that could make the pre-race parades even better in the future. Leclerc said: “We need this at every race. It’s incredible. We enjoy it a lot. We cut a bit of grass but it’s fast. I think we need 20 of these, one for each driver.”
Whether Formula 1 will take up his suggestion remains to be seen, but Charles Leclerc’s words summed up the positive mood perfectly — a rare moment of pure fun between the tension of qualifying and the intensity of the Grand Prix.
Teamwork also played a role
The driver parade wasn’t just about competition or chaos — teamwork also came into play. Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman found a creative way to help the VCARB drivers get back to the finish line at the end of the parade, turning the moment into yet another example of camaraderie and good spirits within the paddock.
The Brazilian GP driver parade may have started as a simple promotional activity, but it ended up becoming one of the most talked-about and entertaining moments of the weekend. Between laughter, mini races, and spontaneous teamwork, it perfectly showcased the lighter side of Formula 1 — something fans and drivers alike would love to see more often.
