The Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt has been in production for some time. Last year, during the Silverstone Grand Prix, director Joseph Kosinski’s crew started shooting the first scenes, drawing attention with a box built specifically for the film.
Production was later halted due to the Hollywood strikes that impacted the film and television industry. During the same period, rumors began circulating that Brad Pitt’s F1 movie had been canceled due to some unforeseen events.
These rumors were later denied by Formula 1 itself: “Filming of the movie will continue at the 2024 Grand Prix, with Brad Pitt and Damson Idris driving real cars on the track.”
Confirmation also came from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who stated: “Yes, we are shooting the film in London right now.”
Details about the film’s plot are relatively scarce. The working title is Apex, the same as the fictional team in which Pitt and Idris’s characters will compete.

“Sonny Hayes [the character played by Pitt] has a terrible accident. He disappears from the scene for a while and devotes himself to other disciplines. His friend, played by Javier Bardem, is the owner of a team that always starts at the back of the grid. They always finish twenty-first or twenty-second. They have never scored a point. But they have a young prodigy played by Damson Idris. [Bardem] drags me into this team as a sort of Messiah, and various adventures ensue.”
