Autosport informs Mick Schumacher’s relationship with Ferrari will conclude in December. Autosport reports on Mick Schumacher's relationship with Ferrari.

Former Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has called on his fans to support Mick Schumacher after he will retire from F1 at the end of the 2022 Formula 1 championship and even suggested that Mick Schumacher should be given the chance to driver for McLaren, a team in which the four-time world champion has various acquaintances, above all team principal Andreas Seidl. The reason is simple: with Fernando Alonso taking the seat that Sebastian Vettel hoped would become Mick Schumacher’s in Aston Martin for the 2023 campaign, the options available to the current Ferrari Driver Academy member are not many.

McLaren, in fact, has orchestrated an aggressive plan to snatch Oscar Piastri from the Alpine team. Oscar Piastri is therefore expected alongside Lando Norris in 2023 to form a very young and undoubtedly talented duo.

The compensation that Oscar Piastri will have to pay to Alpine when the FIA court issues the verdict on the matter will most likely be used by Alpine to free Pierre Gasly from his current contract with Red Bull-AlphaTauri. A few weeks ago, Helmut Marko had stated that there was no way to free Pierre Gasly from AlphaTauri before 2023, but over the weekend in Spa the Austrian consultant of Red Bull corrected the statement: if anyone will present a concrete offer for the 2016 GP2 champion, Red Bull will not get in the way allowing one of his brightest students to leave the Red Bull family, as has already happened with Carlos Sainz, now a Ferrari driver.

At that point a place in AlphaTauri would be free, but it is unlikely that Mick Schumacher will be taken into consideration by Helmut Marko even though Franz Tost is an admirer of the German driver. Liberty Media wants an American in Formula 1 and the track that leads to Colton Herta seems more plausible. If there is a driver for whom Marko can think of breaking the rules at the Red Bull-Honda team, it is Colton Herta, born in 2000 and the youngest winner of a race in IndyCar history.

Esteban Ocon would welcome his friend to Alpine with open arms, but the French management might not miss the opportunity to complete what would be a true French F1 team with Pierre Gasly.

What now seems certain is that Mick Schumacher will not stay in Haas in 2023. According to reports from the global motorsport website Autosport, Mick Schumacher will not renew his contract with the Ferrari Driver Academy, which will therefore arrive at its natural end after the current season. Mick will be a ‘free agent’ and free to look for a seat, but the market no longer offers many possibilities. In addition to the aforementioned teams, there is still a place in Williams alongside Alexander Albon.
