The new Scuderia Ferrari car, with the code name 671, is said to have caused engineers to shake their heads in the wind tunnel. One week ago, Italian journalist and Ferrari insider Leo Turrini reported this information in an article posted on his own blog and now leading German automobile magazine ‘Auto Bild’ has also confirmed that the initial data is actually worse than the Maranello team expected.
‘Auto Bild’ learned from reliable sources within the Scuderia Ferrari team that the new car with the code name 671, which will be presented on February 11, allegedly caused head shaking among the engineers in the wind tunnel. According to their information, the car could even have a serious aerodynamic flaw for this Formula 1 season, which neither the simulation specialists nor the wind tunnel engineers have been able to detect so far.
Italian blogger Leo Turrini also said he reported it because there was a certain euphoria building up among fans that already saw Ferrari winning, despite them being dominated by Mercedes last year. The news should still be considered as a simple rumour, but such information that is usually leaked before the start of a Formula 1 season has many times been reflected by the on-track performance, which does not offer Scuderia Ferrari the best prospects ahead of the 2019 Formula One championship.
