Charles Leclerc made special use of the long break between the Australian Grand Prix and the one in Azerbaijan, which will start the day after tomorrow. During the three-week gap between the Melbourne and Baku races, the Ferrari driver was able to indulge in one of his great passions, music, especially the piano. Many of you readers will remember the white piano that “flew” into the Monegasque’s apartment, an instrument to which the Ferrari driver dedicates much of his free time.

The piece titled ‘AUS23’ is played by Charles Leclerc entirely on the piano with the addition of the violin in post-production. The Scuderia Ferrari driver posted some short videos on his Instagram Stories, taking all his followers into his private ‘studio’, where he created this poignant first ‘single’ based on the minor mode, which Charles Leclerc wanted to use to express the feelings he experienced over the Melbourne weekend in a different way than words.

The ‘home studio’
“I don’t consider myself an artist at all,” Charles Leclerc emphasized. “But as you know, I really enjoy playing the piano, and this is my first piece, so I wanted to share some aspects with you,” the Monegasque’s words addressed to his Instagram followers. The Ferrari man is seen playing ‘AUS23’ in a sweatshirt with a clearly special design on the back, which is a photo taken on the podium at Monza in the 2019 edition of the Italian Grand Prix won by Charles Leclerc.

“This is the ‘studio’,” the Monegasque continues, noting that it is a basic setup, but sufficient to satisfy his post-production needs. “I have already recorded the piano part, and now I would like to add an instrument, and I think the violin can marry well with the piano.” In front of the Ferrari driver on the screen is a very particular ‘telemetry’, that of the sound waves sampled by the recording program. Thus, ‘AUS23’, the first piece of pianist Charles Leclerc, was born.
