Formula One has had its fair share of characters over the years, and Kimi Raikkonen sits pretty high up on that list.
At the the 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Kimi gave his Lotus team one of the all-time best responses to their instructions. The 2012 season saw the return of the Finnish driver back to the sport after two years away, competing in Rally and NASCAR events.
Kimi had been a solid performer in his comeback season, with four podium appearances (two 2nd/two third places), but was still awaiting his first victory since Belgium in 2009. After starting the race in fourth position, Raikkonen started the race very well, moving up to second on the first lap, and was the major benefactor seeing his major rivals all having their issues throughout the race.
Lewis Hamilton, who started the race in pole position, retired on the 19th lap with mechanical issues, while Mark Webber who started in second position (before being passed by Raikkonen), was another driver to not finish the race, colliding with Romain Grosjean, causing the safety car to come out for three laps.
While Fernando Alonso gave Raikkonen a little scare, the Finn showed the poise required to hold out the Spaniard to record a deserved victory.
