The first practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix delivered a humorous moment for Ferrari. Arthur Leclerc, taking part in the rookie session in place of Lewis Hamilton, radioed a playful comment after his brother Charles spun, immediately catching the attention of social media on Friday at Yas Marina.
It was a lighthearted remark made in a relaxed setting, bringing smiles to engineers and team members. Arthur was driving the SF-25 during the mandatory session for young drivers. Ferrari had opted to let Hamilton rest during FP1 in accordance with the regulations, giving Arthur the opportunity to gain valuable track mileage.

During the session, Charles Leclerc lost rear grip and spun. The incident caused no damage, but Arthur’s reaction was instant and humorous. Over the radio, he said, “I think Charles is doing burnouts just to entertain the fans.”

At the end of the day, Arthur said: “I’m really happy with this practice session. It was a good run and we gathered important data for the team and for the simulator department. Everything went according to plan and the pace felt strong. The soft tyres were completely new to me, and I tried to make the most of them. Being on track alongside my brother and other Formula 1 drivers is always an amazing experience. I want to thank the whole team for this opportunity.”
