The 2025 season will go down in Ferrari Endurance history as a year that will be extremely difficult to replicate. It was a campaign in which the Prancing Horse not only secured both the FIA WEC Constructors’ and Drivers’ World Championships, but also achieved a third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Ferrari 499P. On top of that, Ferrari established itself as a benchmark in GT competitions as well, collecting prestigious victories, the most recent of which was success at the Macau Grand Prix.
It is a collection of results that would have made anyone dizzy, but not Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, who remains firmly grounded despite an extraordinary year.
“We are aware that we are living through a moment in which we are rewriting the modern history of the company. If you consider that Ferrari had not won an overall Le Mans since 1965, and had not secured a Constructors’ title since 1972, the scale of what we have achieved becomes clear. We won the Drivers’ title with James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Antonio Giovinazzi, meaning that two Italian drivers won a world championship at the wheel of a Ferrari. Rewriting this kind of success is something incredible and fills us with pride. At the same time, it motivates all of us even more to do better, because for us this is a starting point, certainly not a finishing line.”
The team
What is the secret behind this success? The team. It is the key word that Antonello Coletta repeats several times when reflecting on Ferrari’s achievements.
“All nine of our WEC drivers have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans over the past three years. It is a collective success that rewards everyone’s work. Without the contribution of every single person and without harmony between all the components involved in the project, achieving results like these would simply not be possible.”
Five years of development, three victories at Le Mans and a world title in just a few seasons are numbers that tell the story of a rapid and intense climb to the top.
“If someone had told me that all of this would be possible in such a short space of time, I probably would not have believed it,” Antonello Coletta admits. “And yet the journey has been very real, and it proves the strength of the project and the quality of the people working on it.”
Ferrari, Antonello Coletta and the desire to improve
Despite a record-breaking year, the desire to improve has not faded.
“We must work with the awareness that there is always room to do better, always focusing on excellence. All of us, starting with myself, have the responsibility to maintain this level and to improve it even further.”
According to Antonello Coletta, the role of the Ferrari president has been fundamental.
“He is the soul of this project. He was the first to believe in it, and for that we owe him immense gratitude. He never fails to offer his support, whether through his physical presence or his moral backing. He is our first fan, and we are proud of that, but also fully aware of the responsibility we carry not to disappoint him.”
It was not only the prototype programme that delivered satisfaction. Ferrari also enjoyed a strong season in the GT category.
“We fought for the title until the final race in Bahrain. We finished second, which is still a result of significant importance. I believe our customers, supported by our official driver Alessio Rovera, should be proud of the incredible achievement they secured. Alessio, in particular, had a truly outstanding season, becoming one of the leaders of the category.”
Future prospects
When it comes to future prospects, Antonello Coletta is confident.
“We have developed an Evo kit that certainly improves and enhances aspects of reliability and performance. We can only believe that we have done a job that will take the Ferrari 296 to an even higher level, and I believe that with this kit we will probably be able to see even more customers on the grid at the wheel of a Ferrari.”
Ferrari’s 2025 was not just a year of records. It was the confirmation of a winning philosophy built around teamwork, vision and determination. For Antonello Coletta and the Ferrari Endurance team, the future is already on track, ready to write new chapters in a story that, year after year, seems to have no limits.
