A Ferrari driver carries the Olympic flame on the road to Milan–Cortina 2026. Ferrari Hypercar driver Antonio Fuoco carries the Olympic flame through Catanzaro on the road to Milan–Cortina.

The Milan–Cortina 2026 Olympic Games are getting closer, and the journey of the Olympic flame has already begun. For part of its route, the flame has been carried by a Ferrari driver, underlining the growing connection between motorsport and one of the world’s most important sporting events.

The path of the Olympic flame towards Milan–Cortina 2026 has also passed through the world of motorsport. Carrying it through the streets of the Calabrian capital was Antonio Fuoco, Ferrari driver and one of the most representative figures in global endurance racing, as well as a native of southern Italy.

Antonio Fuoco accompanied the Olympic flame along its route through the city, symbolically linking his international racing career with his personal roots. This gesture goes beyond a simple Olympic celebration and highlights the increasingly close relationship between motorsport and major global sporting events, as attention turns towards the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Born in 1996, Antonio Fuoco is today one of the key pillars of Ferrari’s Hypercar programme in the FIA World Endurance Championship. His name is inseparably linked to the return of the Prancing Horse to the top level of endurance racing, a journey that culminated in victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024 and the Constructors’ World Championship title secured by Ferrari in 2025.

In addition to his achievements in endurance racing, the Italian driver also made a brief appearance in Formula 1 this year. Antonio Fuoco took to the track at the wheel of the Ferrari SF-25 during the first free practice session at the Mexican Grand Prix, stepping in as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton.

Seen in this context, the image of Antonio Fuoco holding the Olympic flame takes on a particularly powerful meaning. He becomes a symbol of a form of motorsport that speaks the same language as Olympic values, such as excellence, sacrifice, dedication and international representation. From the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the streets of Catanzaro, the common thread remains the same: carrying the name of Italy to the highest level on the global stage.

On its journey towards Milan–Cortina 2026, the Olympic flame also passes through the roar of racing engines. It does so by being entrusted to a Ferrari driver who, both in the present and in the future of the FIA World Endurance Championship, continues to represent success at the highest level. Below, you can watch the video showing Antonio Fuoco’s passage through the streets of Catanzaro with the Olympic flame.
